Central Maine has a thriving and unique arts community not in plain sight. Open Studios celebrates this community and brings it into sharp focus.
Open Studios was established in July, 2010, a one day event where people can meet and visit with local artists and experience the connection each artist has with her/his rural Maine setting.
This year 15 studios are open for visitors. From Wellington to Canaan to Mercer explore the arts as well as the countryside; oil paintings, water colors, pastels, landscapes, abstract images, still-lives, woven chairs, birchbark canoes, documentary photography, pottery, sculpture, and more. Work will be for sale, refreshments offered at all studios.
